Blue Tansy essential oil extracted through steam distilled process from yellow flowering blue tansy plant that also referred to as Moroccan Tansy. It is an annual yellow-flowered Mediterranean plant found in northern Morocco. Blue Tansy contains naturally occurring constituent Chamazulene, which provides the characteristic indigo color and is recognized for its skin cleansing benefits.
The above-ground flowers and stems of the blue tansy are gathered by laborers and steam-distilled. In the distillation process, chamazulene is released and turns deep blue, giving the oil the indigo to deep blue hue. Chamazulene changes in blue tansy plants over the season from May to November.
